Lovely place for a read but the inside ramp could have been designed better or eliminated completely by making the place all one floor on the main floor.

It's a nicely set up library. There is an area where you can buy used books and videos by the check out counter. Vagrants loiter here frequently so it's a bit of a turn off. There is no sitting on the floor allowed because people kept sleeping. There has been problems with bed bugs in the past - it happens at all libraries (but they keep it quiet) however, they do their best to keep up with pest control. There are clean public restrooms. Staff is friendly.

The staff are friendly and helpful. There is a lot more...group activities for all ages. Online, Orillia Library monthly newsletter lists all programs. Their hours are generous, too. The Orillia Library is the best library I've ever used and experienced. Thank you, City of Orillia for this resource.

This library allows residents of neighbouring communities to join this wonderful library for free!!

This library has study areas and, as an opposing distraction to study, is a very impressive DVD and blue ray selection of movies and audio books on CD. The literary and music worlds are at your fingertips with the elibrary apps.

I have been a member of libraries in Toronto and Los Angeles. When I moved to Orillia, the first place I went was the library. It is bright, lots of windows. The children's area is located lower level. It is very bright and welcoming. New titles of books and media are prominently displayed. The reservations are placed on shelves right next to the self-checkout (great when you are illegally parked for quick in and out!!) Local art displays decorate the walls. Multiple rows three or four shelves deep of magazines are available, from Canadian Geographic to People Magazine. Up a few more steps is a lounge area with a fireplace and plenty of seating all overlooking downtown. Free WiFi is available with borrowers' own personal password. Public computers are available on a reserve basis. Upstairs you will find paperbacks for lunchtime reading at work (carrying hard cover novels is a bit of a chore, right?) Adult fiction, non-fiction titles are endless, not to mention music cds and gaming cds.
